Chopped in My Kitchen
Last December Philip gave me a set of Foodie Dice.
Let me back up a few months.
At a workshop in August, one of the presenters (Darrell Evans) talked about Gordon Ramsey. I’d heard of him, of course, but had never watched any of his shows.
Because I am the Coach in the Kitchen™, after all, I had to look into Gordon Ramsey and Hell’s Kitchen. Which led to Iron Chef, Chopped, and a couple of other Food Network shows. (Some shows I/we really love. Some we never need to see again. The beauty of the Food Network is that there are so many shows to choose from, you can satisfy your own tastes.)
Bear in mind, Coach in the Kitchen™ is NOT about teaching cooking, but about exploring lessons we learned in the kitchen and how the kitchen remains a big part of life for us.
Philip started watching some of the shows with me, and we started having more conversations about what we were seeing and learning from the shows.
Having Philip along for the ride reawakened the Coach in the Kitchen™ my need to make it more a part of the work I do increased.
Return to the Present
In addition to the Foodie Dice, Philip gifted me with four cookbooks which further fueled the fire for Coach in the Kitchen™.
As I bring Coach in the Kitchen™ to life, I’ll be sharing my own learning experiences as well as what we see on the TV shows. The kitchen is truly where life happens and when we pay attention we can see and learn so much.
My first venture into the world of the Coach in the Kitchen™ is with Chopped - Polenta. Follow along on my journey. Share your own stories.
The kitchen is a part of life for all of us.
